He learned the butcher trade at 16 and has been one ever since. He has lived in Nebraska the past forty years. On September 19th, 1913, he was united in marriage to Emma Kline of Verdel, Nebraska. Mr. Stanton has been in poor health for the past several years and had been confined to his bed for the past eight weeks. Taken to the O'Neill hospital the 5th of May, where he passed away. Those left to mourn are his wife, Mrs. Emma Stanton; three sisters, and three brothers: Mrs. Vertle Black of Spencer, Nebr., Mrs. Lillian Boatman of Centuria, Wis., Al Stanton of Storm Lake, Iowa; Charles Stanton of Calumet, Iowa; Robert Stanton of Pipestone, Minn.; Mrs. Goldie Phelps of Royal Iowa and a host of nieces and nephews. Funeral rites were held from the United Presbyterian church Tuesday afternoon conducted by Rev. E. G. Whale and interment made in the Ewing cemetery.
