Son of George Washington Cackler and Margaret Ann Chandler OBITUARY THE CHARITON LEADER Chariton, Iowa Tuesday, June 6, 1944 WILLIAM B. CACKLER William Butler Cackler, son of Washington and Margaret Chandler Cackler, was born June 7, 1857, in the state of Illinois, and passed away near Chariton, Iowa, on May 13, 1944. He came to Muscatine, Iowa, when a small boy and later moved to Lucas county, Iowa with his parents, where he grew to manhood. On Feb. 16, 1889, he was united in marriage to Laura Nash Blosser, who preceded him in death 33 years ago. To this union three children were born, Everett, who died in infancy, Mrs. Lillie Nussbaum, of Chariton, and Mrs. Eva Bennett of Lucas. He is also survived by one brother, C. C. Cackler, of Ottumwa, fourteen grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. He spent the greater part of his life on a farm in Lucas county, Iowa, and enjoyed good health except for a fall he received in 1939, which left him in a failing condition until death claimed him. Funeral services were held at the Norwood U. B. church, conducted by Rev. LeRoy Sargent and burial was in the Fletcher cemetery. Obituary courtesy of Charles M. Wright
