He was married January 1902 to Pearl Donner at Detroit, Minnesota. They moved the following spring to Villisca, Iowa where he engaged in farming, later moving to town where for some years he was employed by the late Frank Pierson at Pierson elevator. He was married January 1902 to Pearl Donner at Detroit, Minnesota. They moved the following spring to Villisca, Iowa where he engaged in farming, later moving to town where for some years he was employed by the late Frank Pierson at Pierson elevator. He had been retired for many years. Mr. Whan leaves one son Clarence of Denver, Colorado and a daughter, Lois, Mrs John Frazee of Villisca, two granddaughters and one great grandson. A daughter, who died in infancy, preceded him in death. Also surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Cora Moritz of Villisca and Mrs. Clara Moritz of Oakley, Kansas and one brother Roy Whan of Creston, Iowa.
