The services were in charge of the Rev. H. C. Hansen. He was the son of Lorance C. and Elizabeth Harness and was born near Birmingham. Harness BIRMINGHAM, Ia. -- Graveside services were held at the Maple Hill cemetery in Birmingham Friday afternoon for William Cameron Harness, 70, a resident of Soldier, Ia. The services were in charge of the Rev. H. C. Hansen. He was the son of Lorance C. and Elizabeth Harness and was born near Birmingham. He spent his early years in this community and attended Birmingham high school. Later he was employed in the William Beardsley drug store in Birmingham for a number of years. In 1914 he was graduated from the Highland Park college in Des Moines as a registered pharmacist. He has owned and operated a drug store in Soldier for a number of years. He was a member of the Methodist church, a 32nd degree Mason and a charter member of the American Legion post at Soldier. He served in a medical unit during World War I. He was never married. He is survived by three brothers and a sister: Mack Harness, Birmingham; Tom Harness, St. Joseph, Mo.; and Elza Harness, Stockton, Calif.; and Mrs Ada Belle Hoenshel, Birmingham. Mr. and Mrs. Mack Harness and Mrs. R. D. Corry, Sr., Birmingham; and Mr. and Mrs. Richard Harness, Fairfield, attended the funeral at Soldier.
