Description	:	William Karl Freidrich Meinke died October 15, 1995 in Crete (Nebraska) at the age of 84. He was born November 3, 1910 on the home place in Lancaster County. He was the son of Freidrich and Ida Schultz Meinke and was one of six children. He was baptized at St. John Lutheran Church by Pastor F. Schwartz on December 18, 1910 and was confirmed June 1, 1924. Read More	William Karl Freidrich Meinke died October 15, 1995 in Crete (Nebraska) at the age of 84. He was born November 3, 1910 on the home place in Lancaster County. He was the son of Freidrich and Ida Schultz Meinke and was one of six children. He was baptized at St. John Lutheran Church by Pastor F. Schwartz on December 18, 1910 and was confirmed June 1, 1924. He married Viola Jans on May 8, 1938 in a double wedding with Carl and Adeline Meinke. Bill lived in the Kramer area all of his life. He attended school through the eighth grade. Bill enjoyed farming, which he did all of his life. He served on the school board, on the Cemetery Committee, and as an Elder and a Trustee at St. John Lutheran Church. He is survived by his children, Elaine and Robert Luzum, Marilyn and Roger Nelson, Gary and Lynn Meinke; daughter-in-law, Sandi Meinke; sisters-in-law Adeline Meinke and Esther Heitman and by a brother-in-law Orval Jans; 13 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. He ws preceded in death by his parents, brothers and sisters, wife, Viola and son, Mervin Meinke. Funeral services were held October 18 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Kramer with the Rev. John Heckmann officiating. Organist was Gloria Pospisil. Interment was at St. John's Lutheran Cemetery in Kramer. Pallbearers were Terry Luzum, Kevin Luzum, Glen Closner, Kent Nelson, Scott Meinke, and Ryan Meinke. Honorary pallbearers were Larry Hajek, Kenneth Bracht, and Marc Pile.
