Springer, the son of Joseph C. and Emma Eicher Springer was born in Seward County, Nebraska on August 28, 1896 and died suddenly at Aurora, Nebraska on February 28, 1977 at the age of 80 years and 6 months. As a young boy he moved with his parents to Hamilton County, where he has since resided. He received his education in the rural school near his parent's home. On January 27, 1915 he was united in marriage to Ella White at the home of her parents in Clay County, Nebraska. They farmed southwest of Aurora for many years. In 1962 they retired from the farm and moved to Aurora, where he has since resided. At an early age he was baptized and later confirmed in the Pleasant View Bible Church. His parents, two brothers, Joseph and Albert Springer, two sisters, Mrs. Salome Vetter and Mrs. Emma Springer and one infant grandchild had preceded him in death. Those who survive are his wife, Ella; two daughters, Mrs. Ruth Humrich and her husband Glenn of Ft. Collins, Colorado and Mrs. Erma Humrich and her husband Paul of Longmont, Colorado; two brothers, Ben Springer of Garden Grove, California and LeRoy Springer of Aurora; two sisters, Mrs. Lydia Maw of Giltner and Mrs. Mabel Smith of Aurora; four grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and other relatives and many close friends.
