Mr. Bentley was born in Union County March 8, 1919, a son of the late William "Bill" and Maggie Farr Bentley. He was retired from Lockhart Power Company and was a member of Philippi Baptist Church. Mr. Bentley served in the US Army during World War II. Mr. Bentley was born in Union County March 8, 1919, a son of the late William "Bill" and Maggie Farr Bentley. He was retired from Lockhart Power Company and was a member of Philippi Baptist Church. Mr. Bentley served in the US Army during World War II. Survivors are three daughters, Delores Farr and husband Charles of Jonesville, Kathy Stein and husband Russell of Union, and Jean Matthews and husband Jimmy of the home; a son, Terry Bentley and wife Olean of Union; seventeen grandchildren, twenty-seven great-grandchildren; two sisters, Janie Bentley and Betty Webber, both of Union; and a brother, Rev. Jesse Bentley and wife Faye of Union. Mr. Bentley was predeceased by a daughter and a son, Brenda Vanderford and Bill Bentley; and two sisters, Kathleen Hutchins and Mit McSwain. Services will be held Tuesday, December 28, 2010, at Philippi Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Brad Goodale. Pallbearers will be his grandchildren. The family asks that Mr. Bentley's Sunday School Class sit in a group. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 PM Monday, December 27, 2010 at Philippi Baptist Church. Memorials may be made to Philippi Baptist Church Build Fund, 327 Philippi Church Road, Union, SC 29379. The family is at his home, 522 Bentley Town Road, Union, SC 29379. The S. R.
