Mr. Pattee died Tuesday morning, March 13, from erysipelas following a weeks illness. He was born at Pomeroy October 18, 1884, and as a small boy moved with his parents to Pocahontas where he grew to manhood. He was employed for a while in the elevator there and later worked in the lumberyard at that place. He was united in marriage May 15, 1913 to Miss Agnes Meehan. They established their first home at Buckeye where they lived two years and where he was engaged in the lumber business. There their son Oswald was born. They moved from there to Rolfe and have made Rolfe their home ever since. He was employed here by the Shell Lumber company until they sold to the Fullerton company and then he was retained in their employ. He has been in the lumber business here 18 years. During that time he has taken an active part in civic affairs and for the last eight years has been a member of the town council. He is survived by Mrs. Pattee and their son Oswald of Rolfe, by his mother, Mrs. Katherine Pattee of Dubuque, four sisters, Mrs. Joe Halder of Bird Island, Minn., Sister Mary Patricia of Washington, D. C., three brothers Lawrence Pattee of Mason City, J. B. Pattee of Pocahontas and the Rev. Father Frank A. Pattee of Colorado Springs, Colo. His father J. E. Pattee of Pocahontas preceded him in death eight years ago and two other sisters, Miss Dorothy Pattee of Pocahontas and Sister Mary Xavier of Dubuque who died 16 years ago. Pallbearers at the funeral were Walter A. Spence, John C. Damborg, James Sernett, Edward T. Duffy, Z. T. Carroll of Rolfe and George Logan of Pocahontas. The Rolfe town council were honorary pallbearers. Relatives and friends attending from a distance were his mother and sister, Sister M. Agatha of Dubuque, Mrs. James Torpey and Mr. and Mrs. Joe. Halder of Bird Island, Minn., and the latter's daughter Miss Agatha Halder of Sioux city, Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Pattee of Mason City, Mr. and Mrs. J. B. Pattee of Pocahontas, Mrs. Pattee's brother T. F. Meehan of Willmar, Minn., her sister, Miss Rose Meehan of Pocahontas, another sister and her husband, Mr. and Mrs. F. C. Stegge of Randolph, Nebr., and their daughter, Miss Frances Stegge of Sioux City, Mr. and Mrs. M. Barrett and family of Morland, Ole Olson of Fort Dodge, Mr. and Mrs. L. O.
