Description	:	William Fred Fritz Schriever was born August 21, 1914 to William & Sophia (Meyer) Schriever on the family farm just south of Smyrna, Nebraska - a small town just south of the Salem Lutheran Church in Nuckolls County. William was one of six children. He passed from this earthly life to his heavenly home on Saturday morning, March 24, 2007 at the age of 92 years following a courageous battle with heart problems. Read More	William Fred Fritz Schriever was born August 21, 1914 to William & Sophia (Meyer) Schriever on the family farm just south of Smyrna, Nebraska - a small town just south of the Salem Lutheran Church in Nuckolls County. William was one of six children. He passed from this earthly life to his heavenly home on Saturday morning, March 24, 2007 at the age of 92 years following a courageous battle with heart problems. He was united to Veva Irwin on December 25, 1941 at Salem Lutheran Church. This union was blessed with the birth of four children, Lee, James, Kathe and Susan. Willy was a farmer/dairyman and lived his life in the Superior area. When he retired he moved to town his Farm-All tractor went with him and for many years he blessed his family and neighbors with free produce from his gardens...the joy of giving was the joy of gardening for Willy. William was a member of Salem Lutheran Church all his life, serving faithfully in numerous ways and positions throughout the years. He was active in 4-H and Beaverville School as well as anything else he could do to help his family of his community. William was a kind farmer, a loving husband and devoted grandfather. He was a good friend to all. His presence will be missed. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers: Ernest, Harry, Elmer and Harvey, and sister Elsie Schleif. William is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Veva; four children and their spouses: son Lee & Susan Schriever of Panama, NE; son James Schriever of Junction City, KS; and daughter Kathe & Cecil Lovewell of Manhattan, KS; and daughter Susan and John Aiken of Craig, CO; seven grandchildren and their spouses; six great-grandchildren; many other relatives and a host of friends. Funeral services were held Thursday, March 29, 2007 at Salem Lutheran Church rural Superior, NE. with Rev. Barbara Bauer officiating. Burial was held in the Evergreen Cemetery, Superior. Memorials may be directed to the family c/o Veva Schriever, 2123 Meadow Lark Hills, #135 Miller Place, Manhattan, KS. 66502 Williams Funeral Home of Superior was in charge of arrangements.
