Description	:	William Frederich Heitman was born July 8, 1889 on a farm one mile southwest of Kramer in Lancaster County to William and Maria (Schrammel) Heitman. As a small boy, he moved with his family to a farm 2 1/2 miles northwest of Kramer, which was to be his home for most of his life. He died on January 20, 1981 at the age of 91. Read More	William Frederich Heitman was born July 8, 1889 on a farm one mile southwest of Kramer in Lancaster County to William and Maria (Schrammel) Heitman. As a small boy, he moved with his family to a farm 2 1/2 miles northwest of Kramer, which was to be his home for most of his life. He died on January 20, 1981 at the age of 91. He was baptized on August 29, 1889 by Pastor I.J. Huber and confirmed on April 5, 1903 by Pastor G.A. Lohr of St. John's Lutheran Church at Kramer. He attended Crete High School and made farming his life's work. On August 24, 1916 he was married to Alvina Neu by Pastor F.F. Gerike, also at St. John's in Kramer. For many years he served as an agent for the Farmers Union Olive Branch Insurance Co. He also served on the boards of the Kramer Farmers Union Co-op and the Farmers State Bank of Kramer before it was purchased by the Crete State Bank. He was one of the first committeemen for the government farm program in Saline County, which has now become the ASCS. He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, two sisters, and two brothers. His survivors include his son, Wm. D.; daughter-in-law, Esther; one sister, Clara Heitman of Lincoln; sister-in-law, Lydia Heitman of Kramer; two grandchildren, Linda Papik and James Heitman; one great-grandchild; nephews and cousins. Funeral services will be held on Thursday January 22 at 2:30 p.m. at St. John's Lutheran Church with Pastor John Reehl officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
