Poleyette Passed Away Wednesday Morning Mr. William H. Poleyette, one of Crisfield's leading leather and hardware dealers, died at his home on Second Street, Wednesday morning. The deceased, who was 60 years of age, was born in Camden, N.J., and had been a resident of Crisfield for the past twenty years, had been suffering with a complication of diseases for several months and gradually grew worse until the end came on Wednesday. "Bill" as he was familiarly know, was a kind and courteous gentleman, a friend to the needy, honest and conscientious in his dealing with his fellow man and by his cheerful and loving disposition made many friends who join us in extending heartfelt sympathy to his bereaved family. The deceased is survived by his widow, Mrs. Lyda Poleyette; one daughter, Elizabeth Poleyette; four sisters, Mrs. Fannie Beauchamp of Westover, Mrs. Hattie Kennard and Mrs. Mary Hayes of Camden, N.J.; and Miss Kate Poleyette, of Perryville, Md. and four brothers, Joseph and Andrew of Crisfield, Charles, of Westover, and George Poleyette, of Baltimore. Funeral services will be held in the Westover Catholic Church, conducted by Father Mahoney of Salisbury, this (Saturday) morning. The Crisfield Times, Crisfield, Maryland, Saturday, November 20, 1926, p. 1 Note: According to his death certificate, Mr. William H. Poleyette was buried in Westover, likely in the St. Elizabeth Catholic Church graveyard where his parents and siblings were buried. The Poleyette family graves were moved to Crisfield when the State of Maryland realigned SR 413 at Westover, near the site of the Catholic church and graveyard. This memorial is in honor of Mr. William H. Poleyette. I placed it in Sunnyridge Memorial Park where the gravemarkers of his parents and siblings are now located. William does not have a gravemarker here. The dates of birth and death are taken from Mr. Poleyette's MD Death Certificate.
