Description	:	DEATH'S HAND EXTENDED. Capt. William H. Cullen was found dead in his chair, at his home in Lawsonia last Wednesday afternoon. The deceased was 82 years of age. Capt. Read More	DEATH'S HAND EXTENDED. Capt. William H. Cullen was found dead in his chair, at his home in Lawsonia last Wednesday afternoon. The deceased was 82 years of age. Capt. Cullen appeared in the best of health on the day of his death, but while alone at his home when the end came, and it is believed that heart failure was the fatal disease. Capt. Cullen was a sailor by occupation, and was one of the most highly respected citizens of this community. At the age of 18 he shipped as cook of a crew, and later became a captain of a vessel, serving in that capacity until about 25 years ago. During his life as a sailor Capt. Cullen traded on the Chesapeake Bay and at many points on the Atlantic. In 1868 the deceased was married to Miss Annie Sterling, who preceded him to the grave 30 years ago. He is survived by four children, Messrs. Joseph T. Cullen and Silas S. Cullen, Mrs. John Tyler and Mrs. Edward Sterling, all of Lawsonia. Funeral services were held at the Asbury church, of which he had been a lifelong member, on Friday afternoon, Revs. E.H. Dashiell and H.H. Carroll, officiating. Born 30 Mar 1832 in Somerset County, MD, he was the son of Travis Cullin and Annie Moore, both of Lawsonia, MD. His daughter, Mrs. Sadie Sterling was the informant. Interment was in Asbury Cemetery.
