Description	:	BIOGRAPHY : WILLIAM H. NAYLOR was educated in the public schools of Waynesboro, Pa., and remained with his father until after his marriage. He learned cabinet making, with Joseph H. Crebs, of Waynesboro, and worked with him for seven years. Mr. Naylor then secured a position in the car shops at Altoona, Pa., where he remained for two years. He then engaged in house painting during the summer; and in winter worked at cabinet making. NAYLOR was educated in the public schools of Waynesboro, Pa., and remained with his father until after his marriage. He learned cabinet making, with Joseph H. Crebs, of Waynesboro, and worked with him for seven years. Mr. Naylor then secured a position in the car shops at Altoona, Pa., where he remained for two years. He then engaged in house painting during the summer; and in winter worked at cabinet making. Some years later, Mr. Naylor removed to the farm which his father had bought in Frederick County, Md., and assisted his father until his father's death, when he inherited the property. The land is beautifully situated on the south side of the Blue Ridge Mountain, and his many improvements have made it one of the fine farm of the district. Mr. Naylor cultivated this land successfully until the spring of 1907, when the State Board of Health selected his farm as the most desirable site for a state sanatorium and purchased it, paying a good price. Mr. Naylor had reserved a part of his land, and on it he built a comfortable, home, and retired from farming. He also owns several desirable dwellings near Sabillasville. He attributes his financial success to diligence and attention to business. He is a Democrat, interested in the progress of the district. William H. Naylor was married to Edith A.Edith A., daughter of Richard and Ann M. (Miller) Wagaman, whose father was a prominent farmer of Hauvers District. Of their nine children seven reached adult age: 1, John R., a farmer of Hauvers District; 2, Reuben R., a merchant of Sabillasville, Md.; 3, Roscoe, a farmer of Hauvers District; 4, Albina, at home; 5, Annie (Mrs. William Benchel), deceased; 6, Catherine M., at home; 7, Mary A., at home. Mr. Naylor and his wife are members of St. John's Reformed Church in Sabillasville. He is an active worker in the church, and contributes liberally to benevolent enterprises.
