Description	:	Bill, 90, passed away at 7:00 p.m., at his home. He was the son of Perry and Maude (Gant) Stimmel. On Nov 29, 1947, he married Roberta Spencer, who survives in Waynesfield. Also surviving are two sons: Gary L. (Janelle), Harrod, and Gregory W. (Tina), Lakeview; a daughter, Pamela J. (Tom) Lawrence, Waynesfield; a sister, Patricia Conkle, Lafayette; and seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Deceased are six siblings: a sister, June Guinn and others linked below. A 1943 graduate of the Harrod High School, he served during WWII in the U.S. Navy. Once he returned home he began farming and continued that passion his entire life. In 1957 he took a position as a corrections officer with the Lima State Hospital and worked there for 26 years retiring in 1982. He was a member of the Westminster United Church of Christ. Funeral services will be at Chiles-Laman Funeral and Cremation Services, Eastside Chapel, with Rev Doug Adams officiating. Burial will be in Salem Westminster Cemetery following the service.
