The funeral will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. in the First United Methodist Chlurch, with the Rev. K. Oliver Brekke officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery with Masonic rites by the AF & AM Masonic Lodge No. 26. ..... William Hansen Sass Jr. was born Aug. 21, 1904, in West Point, Neb. to Mr. and Mrs. William (Elsie Hansen) Sass Sr. He moved with his parents in 1907, to the Wessington area. He married Dorothy Ranft in 1933, who preceded him in death in 1968. He worked at the O.P. Skagg's store until 1949, at that time they moved to Lake Preston where they operated grocery store until 1957. They moved back to Huron and he worked at Peavey Lulmber Coopany until his retirement. He married Anna Eckmann May 25, 1974. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church ad the Meridian Masonic Lodge No. 94 of Lake Preston. He is survived by his wife of Huron; one son, Doyle Sass of Huron; one daughter, Betty Reilly of Huron; four step children, Robert Ranft of Huron, Lawrence Eckmann of Rapid City, Melvin Eckmann of Cavour and Edith Voss of Huron; nine grandchildren, 10 step grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, three step-great-grandchildren; two brothers, Harlan Sass of Lake Preston, and Maurice Sass of LaMirada, Calif.; four sisters, Meta Coon of Huron, Iva McDonnell of Brookings, Mrs. J.R. (Erma) Griner of Boulder City, Nev., and Mrs. Mke (Ina) Reese of Bellflower, Calif.; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his first wife, he was preceded in death by his paretns, five sisters, Ada Stobbs, Leola Sass, Etta Meritt, Ella Koch and an infant sister, Pearl; three brothers, Hobart Chester, and an infant brother, Marvin Sass. Pallbearers will be nephews Don Koch, Roger Sass, John Stobbs, Everett Coon, Melvin Meritt and Milbrn Sass. Daily Plainsman, Huron, Beadle, South Dakota March 5, 1984
