Description	:	William Harvey Wilson was born in Hancock County, Illinois on September 23, 1843 and died at his home in Villisca, Sunday afternoon, June 23, 1923 at 2 o’clock at age of 79 years. When he was but an infant, he was taken by his parents to Lee County, Iowa and when he was five years of age was brought by them to Montgomery County where he has since remained with the exception of two years in Nodaway County, Missouri. Read More	William Harvey Wilson was born in Hancock County, Illinois on September 23, 1843 and died at his home in Villisca, Sunday afternoon, June 23, 1923 at 2 o’clock at age of 79 years. When he was but an infant, he was taken by his parents to Lee County, Iowa and when he was five years of age was brought by them to Montgomery County where he has since remained with the exception of two years in Nodaway County, Missouri. He lacked by four days of serving three years in the civil war. He was a member of Company D 29th Iowa Infantry. His regiment was in the engagements in the Mississippi Valley in which Vicksburg was one of the greatest battles. Mr. Wilson was lightly wounded. He was united in marriage to Margaret Hobson by Rev. W. T. Reed on January 1866 and to this union five daughters were born, four of whom are living they are Miss Hannah Wilson, Mrs, and Mrs. Minnie Anson, of Villisca, Mrs. Ethel Benware, Red Oak, and Mrs. Anna Crum, Chappell, Nebraska. Mrs. Eva Burnett died in August 1905. Besides his children, he also leaves his wife who was his companion for many years, and her son by a former marriage, W. R. Terry of Omaha, all of whom were there during Mr. Wilson’s last illness. He leaves also fourteen grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. In 1892, Mr. Wilson and his family moved to Villisca. He united with the Methodist Church in his early manhood and transferred his membership to the Methodist Church of this city on coming here. The funeral was held at the home, Tuesday afternoon at 2:30 o’clock with Rev. J. L. Boyd in charge of the services and interment was in the Villisca Cemetery. The pall bearers were A. F. Favie, J. F. Taylor, J. M. Bolt, T. G. Brenton, S. C. Boise, and Louis Enarson. The singing was by Mr. and Mrs. A. F. Davie, The John A. Logan Circle, and the G. A. R. post assisted in the service at the home and Russell Wallace sounded taps at the grave. Those from a distance to attend the funeral were Mrs. John Crum, Chappel, Nebraska; W. R. Carey, Omaha; Mrs. John Hobson, Mrs. J. B. Graves, Mrs. A. J. Seefeldt, Miss May Redmon, and Mr. and Mrs. William Hobson, Red Oak. Villisca Review, Friday, June 15, 1923, page 5 Wilson, Wm.
