Description	:	William Beatty, son of Benjamin and Margaret Forbes Beatty, was born near Keosauqua, Iowa, July 27, 1853. He passed away at his home near the place of his birth, March 25, 1929, aged 75 years, 7 months and 25 days. He grew to manhood on the farm where he was born and lived his entire life in and near Keosauqua, Iowa. On July 6, 1881, he was united in marriage to Agnes Gibb of Vernon, Iowa. Read More	William Beatty, son of Benjamin and Margaret Forbes Beatty, was born near Keosauqua, Iowa, July 27, 1853. He passed away at his home near the place of his birth, March 25, 1929, aged 75 years, 7 months and 25 days. He grew to manhood on the farm where he was born and lived his entire life in and near Keosauqua, Iowa. On July 6, 1881, he was united in marriage to Agnes Gibb of Vernon, Iowa. This union was blessed with five children, two having preceded him in death, Herman in 1902 and Nellie in 1908. Mr. Beatty was always interested in anything that was a benefit to the community and served as school director most of his life, being elected director when he was only 21 years of age. He united with the Mt. Zion M. E. church at the age of 19, later he transferred his membership to the Keosauqua M. E. church of which he was a member at the time of his death. Mr. Beatty is survived by his wife, three children, Ida at home, Linn of Mt. Zion and Roy who lives near home; also five grandchildren and four sisters ; Mrs. Mary Rigsby, Maggie, Ella and Emma all of Keosauqua, Iowa. His twin brother, John and sister Mattie Cox preceded him in death. He also leaves a niece and four nephews besides other relatives and many friends. Services were held at the M. E. church at Keosauqua, Iowa, on March 27, at 2 p.m., by M. D. Cox the pastor. Interment was made in the Fellows cemetery."
