A family service was held at the Sinn Funeral Home at 11:40 a.m. and a public service at the Evangelical and Reformed Church at 1:30 p.m. with Rev. A. F. Rinne in charge. A family service was held at the Sinn Funeral Home at 11:40 a.m. and a public service at the Evangelical and Reformed Church at 1:30 p.m. with Rev. A. F. Rinne in charge. Interment was in Morgan Township Cemetery, Schleswig. William Henry Bielenberg, son of Jacob and Emma (Meyers) Bielenberg, was born May 5, 1883, in Grant Township, Ida County, Iowa. He grew to manhood at the place of his birth, receiving his education in the rural schools. At the age of 14, he was confirmed in the Lutheran Church in Grant Township. On December 24, 1905, he was united in marriage to Mattie Krohnke. Three sons were born to this union. They lived on a farm two and a half miles west of Schleswig, until March 1942, when they moved to Schleswig. Mr. Bielenberg was always active in the affairs of the community. He was one of the original directors of the Farmers State Bank, organized in June 1919, and extensive land owner and an associate hog buyer for many years. He was a realtor up to the time of his death. He was a member of the Schleswig Community Club and of the Churchmen's Brotherhood. Mr. Bielenberg's health began to fail about a year ago, but he was able to be up and around until the past three weeks. He is survived by his wife, Mattie; three sons, Henry, Bartley and Ben Bielenberg; three daughter-in-laws; one granddaughter, Bettie Dee Bielenberg; one brother, Emil Bielenberg; and two sisters, Mrs. F. J. (Lena) Petersen and Mrs. Minnie Aldag, all of Schleswig. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, August and Frederick Bielenberg, who died in infancy, and one sister, Mrs. John Bendixen. Schleswig Leader, Jan 20, 1949
