When nine years of age, he, with his parents moved to Madison, Wisconsin. July 3, 1876, he and Miss Mary Bardon were united in marriage. To them were born six children, four boys and two girls, two boys dying in infancy. With his family he came to Nebraska in February , 1880, engaging in farming near Fairmont, until October 1904, when he moved into town. He became a member of the Methodist Episcopal church in 1894, during the pastorate of Rev. Randall, since which time the deceased was an official member of the same, holding a position on the board of church trustees. For the past year he had been a great sufferer and often prayed to be released from the pain, that he might join his two little ones who had gone before, and be at rest. The welcome release came Saturday afternoon, and he answered the call with a smile and fell asleep. Deceased is survived by the wife, two sons and two daughters. The children are Edgar and Clarence of Geneva township, Mrs. Ora Robbins of West Blue and Miss Jessie. Funeral services were conducted at the Methodist Episcopal church Monday afternoon at two o'clock, Rev. M.C. Brooks officiating, assisted by Rev. C.A. Gleason. The I.O.O.F and A.O.U.W. Lodges, of which deceased was a member, attended in a body and marched to the cemetery. Numerous friends from over the county were present, the funeral procession being one of the largest seen her in years. The floral offerings were numerous and beautiful.
