DARNOLD, 74, DIES AT HOME HERE FUNERAL SUNDAY P.M. Wm. J. Darnold pioneer resident of Villisca, died yesterday, Thursday, at 1:25 a.m. at his home on 8th street, his death resulting from old and age the effects of the intensely to gather. He broke his left hip in the fall at his home Tuesday of last week and his health declined from that time until his death. He was born in Virginia on December 1, 1861 and was 74 years off at his death. He came to Vilisca in his youth and lived here continuously since then. He lived 45 years in the home where he died. He was married to Sarah Abbie Greenfield on September 1, 1883 and to them were born 8 children. Those living are Mrs. Ivan Brewer, Glendo, Wyoming, Mrs. Geo. Galentin, Omaha, Nebraska, Mrs. Vida Comley and Mrs. Chas Sandquist Villisca; Mrs. L. D. Newlin, Wayne, Michigan; and Dewey Darnold, Burlington, Iowa. One son died in infancy and another son, Harley, died two years ago. Besides his widow and children, Mrs. Darnold leaves 24 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren and the following brothers, Robert, Oeirjehs, South Dakata, Arthur and Edwin, Council Bluffs, Iowa; and George, Lincoln, Nebraska. Mr. Darnold was a member of the Methodist Church. His body was taken Thursday morning to the Wolfe Funeral Home where it will remain until Saturday evening when it will be returned to the Darnold home. Funeral services will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. in the Methodist Church conducted by Rev. W. F. Clayburg, interment will be in the Villisca Cemetery.
