Read More	BILLY IS MY BROTHER * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * Bill (William Joseph) Kohl, 17 William Joseph Kohl, son of William Donald and Rosemarie Martha (Miner) Kohl, was born in Harlan on Dec. 14, 1968. He died Oct. 1,1986 at University Hospital in Iowa City, at the age of 17 years. He was baptized on Dec. 15, 1968 at Creighton Memorial St. Joseph hospital in Omaha, NE. From Dec. of 1968 until Feb. of 1969, he was cared for at University hospital in Iowa City from March until Sept. of 1969. he was cared for at Tommy Dale Nursing Home in Sioux City. He was finally able to come home in Oct. of 1969. He was a surgical patient several times at University hospital in Iowa City, over the short span of his life. He attended the Woodbine Community school in Woodbine. He received his First Holy Communion on May 1, 1977 at Sacred Heart Catholic church In Woodbine and was confirmed on April 6, 1986 at the county~wide services held in Mo. Valley. His favorite pasttimes were fishing with his dad and helping his neighbor, Calvin Johnson "keep an eye on his cattle." He had had surgery on Sept. 30 and was doing fine. His death was sudden and unexpected. He was preceded in death by his two grandfathers: Atman V. Kohl and Arthur C. Miner and grandmother: Anna M. (Andersen) Kohl Boldt. He Is survived by his parents: William D. and Rosemarie M. Kohl of Logan; three sisters: Marthann Kohl of Portsmouth; Karen Kohl of Johnston lsland sad Alisa Kohl of Logan and three brothers: David of Minden; Donald of San Diego, CA and Michael of Woodbine; and a grandmother: Martha E. Miner of Hot Springs, Ark, besides aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and other relatives. Funeral services were held Oct. 6, 1986 at the Sacred Heart Catholic church in Woodbine with Rev. Thomas Coenen, officiating. Burial was in Woodbine cemetery with honorary bearers being Henry Nelsen, Jeff Johnsen, Kevin Moores, Scott Tucker and David Sherer. Jason Speake, Scott Jochims, Richard Weis, Bill Stephany, Rick Meeker and Jon Cleaver serving as casketbearers. Fouts Funeral Home in Woodbine was in charge of arrangements.
