Hanna which occurred at his home Monday evening, April 26, 1926. Although he had been in poor health for some time he was down town the latter part of last week, so that news of his death came as a surprise and shock to many of his friends. Mr. Hanna had been a resident of Burlingame for many years and had taken an active interest and part in the affairs of the town, serving tern as its mayor and also as trustee and treasurer of the township. Funeral services in charge of the I.O.O.F. were conducted Wednesday, afternoon at 2:00 o'clock by Rev. John Endacott from the Methodist church during which time the stores were closed out of respect to him. 4-29-1926 Hanna, William Kelley 1861-1926 William Kelley Hanna was born in Tollesboro, Kentucky, April 18, 1861, and died at him home in this city, April 26, 1926, aged 65 years, 8 days. In 1883 Mr. Hanna came to Kinsley, Kansas, where in 1890 he was married to Miss Hattie Fisk. In 1892 they moved to Burlingame, Kansas, where they made their home for more than thirty-four years. To this family were born four children, Mrs. Mary Garinger of Wilmington, Ohio, dale Bryant who give his life in the service of his country during the World War, November 6, 1918, Mrs. Julia Chubb of Topeka, Kansas and Miss Florence Hanna of this city. Mr. Hanna is also survived by a sister, Mrs. E.J. Rummans of Winfield, Kansas who with a cousin, Russell Hanna of Winfield, were with him at the time of his death; also two brothers, Robert G. and James B. Hanna of Tollesboro, Kentucky, and by two grandchildren, Charles Garinger and Betty Lou Chubb. Mr. Hanna is a member of the First Methodist Church of this city; of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows, of the Rebekans, and of the Modern Woodmen of America. His many years in the cattle business of this vicinity have made him one of its most widely known citizens and there is perhaps no other who has and deserves the good will and confidence of those with whom he has dealt than does Mr. Hanna. The hopeful never complaining manner in which Mr. Hanna has met failing health during the past two years is recognized by those who know him best as that same courageous optimistic spirit which has always pervaded his business career, enabling him to accept a loss just as graciously as he did a gain. "Mark" as Mr. Hanna is best known to his host of very intimate friends, will be greatly missed among the fraternal and business circles of this community where he will ever be remember for the splendid to be of manhood which he exemplified in his everyday life. The funeral services were held at the M.E. church Wednesday afternoon before an audience which filled the church. They were conducted by Re. John Endacott. Assisted by a quartet: Mrs. Louis Waddle, Mrs. S.A. Smith, Earl Sutherland, and W.L. Hakes, Miss Pearl White, organist. The services at the cemetery were conducted by the Odd Fellows Lodge. 5-6-1926
