He had been in declining health for three years. The son of the late William and Harriet Barnhill Best, he was born and reared in Horry county where he spent his entire life. Funeral services, conducted by the Rev. R. N. Wells and the Rev. J. G. Ferguson, will be held at 3:30 Friday from the Sandy Plains Methodist church. Interment will be in the adjoining cemetery. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Lula Mae Best; five sons, William Francis Best of Fayetteville, N.C.; Norris Best of the army at Fort Bragg, N.C., Laverne Best of Myrtle Beach and Stanley and Forest Best, both of Gallivants Ferry; five daughtes, Mrs. W. S. Hewitt, Mrs. Edward Grainger, Mrs. Julia Capps and Misses Rebecca and Bill Best, all of Gallivants Ferry; three brothers, Floyd Best of Raleigh, N.C., Jamie and Beaty Best, both of Gallivants Ferry; two sisters, Mrs. Allard Vaught of Gallivant's Ferry and Mrs. D.
