The Nelson Gazette (Nelson, NE), Thursday, March 11, 1926 ============= William LeRoy Herrington (sic) was the infant son of Mr. and Mrs. Ira Herrington (sic), and was taken away suddenly at the age of 4 months and 12 days. He was a child of unusual loveliness and interest. How sudden comes the cloud of sorrow some times to our homes. How tenderly he was cared for in the home. The flowers grow in profusion in the garden yet the angel that day took the mere bud and up, up he went with it to bedeck the crown, for "He hath need of these flowers gay." He was welcomed in that home; how everything had been done for him during his very brief illness yet me must be taken. Although we can not understand, yet we are sure of this "that all things work together for good to those who love God. We are led to recall the place this child has in the economy of Grace, for Jesus called the child into their midst. He had time to take the babes into His arms and bless them, saying: "for of such is the Kingdom of Heaven." When John saw in a vision the celestial city we read that he saw boys and girls playing in the streets thereof. Perhaps the most beautiful picture of the Master is the one given by the Prophet Isiah, when he said: "He shall gather the lambs in His arms and carry them in His bosom." The funeral was held in the Presbyterian church and officiated by the pastor, Friday afternoon. The special songs by the choir were "Safe in the arms of Jesus" and "Precious Jewels." A wealth of flowers were in evidence at the funeral. There is a Reaper whose name is death, And with his sickle keen, He reaps the bearded grain at a breath, And the flowers that grow between, "My Lord hath need of these flowerets gay," The Reaper said and smiled; Dear tokens of the earth are they, Where He was once a child.
