Read More	The following provided by Find A Grave contributor "Cara": The River Press, Fort Benton, Mont., 1 Nov 1961 Local Resident Dies Suddenly on Monday William L. "Roy" Fisher, 74, a resident of Fort Benton for the past 22 years, died suddenly at Warm Springs Monday. Death was due to a stroke. Mr. Fisher had been in poor health since his retirement in 1959. He was born March 11, 1887, at Canton, S. D., and received schooling at that place. He homesteaded at Kadoka, S. D. in 1917. He entered the army May 24, 1918, during World War I and was discharged Jan. 14, 1919. Following service he returned to the Kadoka area, working as a truck driver and also in a hardware store until the family moved to Fort Benton in 1939. Mr. Fisher and Lula Brugman were married July 5, 1924, at Bellefourche, S. D. During their residence in Fort Benton he worked as a truck driver and janitor and at a number of other jobs here, retiring two years ago. Four of their sons graduated from Fort Benton high school. Funeral services will be held Friday, Nov. 3, from the Benton Funeral Home chapel at 2 p.m. Benton Lodge No. 59 IOOF will participate in the services. Military graveside services will be held at Riverside cemetery. Mr. Fisher is survived by his wife; five sons, Harold L. Fisher, Los Angeles, Calif.; Vernell L. Fisher, Woodland Hills, Calif.; Clay Dean Fisher, Long Beach, Calif.; Robert C. Fisher, Fort Benton; and Dale R. Fisher, who is serving in the U.S. army in Germany. A sister, Mrs. Olive Crumrine, Long Beach, and ten grandchildren, also survive. He had many friends in this county who will learn with regret of his passing.
