Memorial services were held on Sat., May 23, at the Brockhaus Funeral Chapel, Creighton, for WIlliam Loren (Bill) Vrooman. Pastor Juanita Dose of the Orchard United Methodist Church conducted the services. He passed away on May 18, 1992 at the Creighton Care Center at the age of 80 years and 10 1/12 months. On November 10, 1937 Bill and Esther Franka of Inman were married. Six children were born to this union. Bill farmed in the Venus community until retiring to the Bruce Park Terrace Housing Unit in 1979. In June of 1991 he moved to the Creighton Care Center. He was a member of the United Methodist Church of Orchard. He was preceded in death by his parents, two infant siblings and his wife. He is survived by a sister, Rose Backhaus, Chambers; a brother, Charley, Kent, WA; his sons, Marvin, Central City; Leland, Howells; and Willard, Orchard, his daughters, Shirley Kehne, WInnetoon; Nelda Boswell, Foxboro, MA; Lori Horstmann, Cozad; 15 grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Having arranged that his remains be donated to Medical Science the interment will be at Hope-Enterprise Cemetery near Venus at a later date.
