Arrangements were in charge of the McMahon Funeral Home. Mr. Wilson died about six a.m. Friday, September 26, at Mercy Hospital, Fort Dodge, where he had been a patient since September 6. Born June 4, 1877, on a farm near Freeport, Ill., he was a son of Mr. and Mrs. William Wilson. He attended schools near Freeport, Ill., and was employed on a dairy for seven years. He came to Iowa in 1900 and made his home at Pocahontas. He was employed by T. H. Eaton in Pocahontas for five years. On October 4, 1910, he was married to Anna Shimon in the Sacred Heart Catholic church with Rev. W. A. Pape officiating. The following spring they started to farm and farmed continuously in Pocahontas county for 40 years. They retired into Pocahontas in the spring of 1960. Survivors include his widow: three sons, Thomas of Pocahontas; George W., in the navy, stationed in Japan who was unable to come home because of the typhoon at Wake Island; and Donald, who is on the home farm near Plover; one daughter, Mrs. Glenn Green of Atlantic, Iowa; and seven grandchildren.” Contributed by Ann Bowler, #46893124
