Further particulars have not been learned. She did not know that he had been ill. Her son Jamea started for that place Tuesday morning to bring home the remains. The local relatives of the deceased have the sympathy of the entire community. march 6, 1907 - Emmetsburg Democrat - Last week brief mention was made of the death of William McCoy at Haddock, North Dakota. Sunday morning his brother James arrived in this city with the remains, which were taken to the home of his mother. Mr. McCoy had been feeling hearty and worked until evening the day before he passed away. He retired as usual and was found dead in bed the following morning. The funeral was held Monday forenoon. Services were conducted at Assumption church by Father Youngblood, who said a requiem high mass. The burial was in St. John's cemetery. The pall bearers were P.H. Hand, Joseph Mulroney, Robert Carney, Joe J. Steil, W.I. Branagan and Wm. Laughlin. There was a large procession of relatives and old neighbors. The deceased was born in this county Angnst 6, 1865, He grew to manhood in this locality, but for quite a number of years he has lived in North Dakota. Those who knew him as a boy and as a developing young man will recollect that he was a bright, energetic, large hearted young fellow. He was widely known and he had many devoted friends. His taking off in manhood's prime will be universally regretted and will, of course, be felt keenly by his mother and by the other members of the family. Three brothers and five sisters survive. All were present at the funeral. The sympathy of the entire community is extended to them in their bereavement.
