Description	:	William N. Inberg was born November 25, 1896 in Riverside Township, Clay County, South Dakota, the son of Joseph and Ingrid Berg Inberg. He was baptised and confirmed in the Lutheran faith and was a member of the Dalesburg Lutheran Church. William served his country in the United States Army during World War I. After his discharge he returned to South Dakota and worked for a short time in a garage at Dalesburg. Inberg was born November 25, 1896 in Riverside Township, Clay County, South Dakota, the son of Joseph and Ingrid Berg Inberg. He was baptised and confirmed in the Lutheran faith and was a member of the Dalesburg Lutheran Church. William served his country in the United States Army during World War I. After his discharge he returned to South Dakota and worked for a short time in a garage at Dalesburg. In 1925 he built the first commercial structure (a garage and filling station)at the present site of Hub City, which was the origin of the settlement. The garage was opened for business on June 24, 1925, an event that was recognized on its 50th Anniversary at the 1975 Mid-summer picnic. On November 14, 1926 William was married to Pearl Swedeen in the Dalesburg Lutheran parsonage. The couple made their home at Hub City where Mr. Inberg operated his garage until illness forced his retirement in 1969. They continued to make their home in Hub City until his death on January 29, 1976 at the age of 79 years, 2 months, and 4 days. Mr. Inberg was member of the Westlund-Peterson Post, American Legion at Alsen. Among the survivors who gratefully shared his life are his loving wife, Pearl; three sons: Rodney Inberg of Citrus Heights, CA, Major Darlow Inberg of Fort Hood, TX, and Elliot Inberg of Geneva, IL; two daughters: Betty Ann (Mrs. Royce Dahlin) of Centerville and Connie (Mrs. Gary Richards)of Beresford; five sisters: Mrs. Art (Edith) Soderman of Vermillion, Miss Frances Inberg and Anita Moore, both of Los Angeles, CA, Mrs. Harvey (Elmeda) Olson, also of Vermillion, and Mrs. Vernon (Dorothy) Silkenson of Huntington Beach, CA, thirteen grandchildren and one great grandson. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister.
