Garhan Held Friday Rising City, Aug. 19 - Funeral services for William P. Garhan were held from St. Mary's Catholic church, David City, Friday morning with Rev. William Murphy, the pastor, in charge. Interment was in the Catholic cemetery at David City. The pall bearers were E. L. Perry, Charles Lyons, Ernest Suddarth, W. F. Delaney, Frank Kirby and Mike Danaher. Mr. Garhan met almost instant death when he fell from the cab of a truck in which he was riding Tuesday evening Aug. 13, striking his head on the ground. William P. Garhan was born at Rising City, July 5, 1881, and was 53 years of age at time of death. He spent his boyhood days at Rising City, then moved to David City. Later he went to South Omaha and was a livestock salesman 22 years. He went to California eight years ago and had returned to Rising City only a few weeks prior to his death. Mr. Garhan is survived by his brother, James Garhan of Rising City, and two sisters, Mrs. H. J. Finch of Omaha and Mrs. T. E. Fenlon of Sioux City, Iowa, as well as a host of friends.
