Description	:	William Brand Dies; Services Were Held In Home Last Week William P. Brand, son of John and Maggie De Penning Brand, passed away March 15 at his home 107 C. Avenue West, Oskaloosa. He was born near Pella Dec. 25, 1880 and was united in marriage to Jennie De Wit Oct. 8, 1903. To this union three children were born; Verval Brand of Fremont, Mrs. Henry A. Dykstra of Pella, Mrs. Henry Van Dusseldorp of Leighton, also four grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren all of whom survive along with his widow. He was born near Pella Dec. 25, 1880 and was united in marriage to Jennie De Wit Oct. 8, 1903. To this union three children were born; Verval Brand of Fremont, Mrs. Henry A. Dykstra of Pella, Mrs. Henry Van Dusseldorp of Leighton, also four grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren all of whom survive along with his widow. He was preceded in death by five brothers Henry, John, Charley, Jacob and Gerrit and three sisters Mrs. Evert Vander Wert, Mrs. Tunis Klien and Tonle, who died in childhood. Brand" moved to Oskaloosa in June 1943. He was employed at Mercy Hospital in Sept. for four years, and then he retired. He was a member of the Central Reformed church of Oskaloosa. The Rev. J.C. Van Wyk officated at the Funeral services which were held March 17 at 1:30 p.m. at his home and 2 p.m. at the Central Reformed Church. He was buried in Black Oak Cemetery.
