Description	:	William Gordon Sheets, 91, died Friday at Good Samaritan Center, Nelson. He was the son of Cecil Sheets and Margaret Moorhead Sheets and was born June 9, 1907, at Lawrence, Neb. Mr. Sheets attended Rural School No. 22 at Pleasant Hill, Deweese High School for two years and graduated from Nelson High School in 1925. He moved with his parents to Nelson in 1927 and worked with area farmers after his graduation. Read More	William Gordon Sheets, 91, died Friday at Good Samaritan Center, Nelson. He was the son of Cecil Sheets and Margaret Moorhead Sheets and was born June 9, 1907, at Lawrence, Neb. Mr. Sheets attended Rural School No. 22 at Pleasant Hill, Deweese High School for two years and graduated from Nelson High School in 1925. He moved with his parents to Nelson in 1927 and worked with area farmers after his graduation. Later he worked with his father as a mason and the two of them helped put the present stucco finish on the Nuckolls County Courthouse. On June 4,1930, he was united in marriage to Maretta Cook. During their life together Gordon trucked, farmed and ran a produce station in Superior. He was a member of the Nelson Community United Church of Christ. He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife in February, 1995, and one sister. Evelyn Collins. He is survived by his sister, Mrs. Floyd Meyer (Fae), and Gwen Whiteley, both of Nelson and Mildred Bishop, York. The funeral was Monday from the Nelson Community United Church of Christ, Nelson, with the Rev. Ralph Sturdy officiating. Interment was in the Nelson Cemetery.
