Lead Daily Call newspaper, Tuesday, August 1, 1922, page 4: WILLIAM RANKIN WYLIE Death This morning of a Well Known Resident of Lead After an illness which had extended over several months, William Rankin Wylie passed away at his home in this city of tuberculosis. He was a man who was esteemed and liked by those who knew him, a loving husband and devoted father, a good citizen and a man who had earned the esteem of scores of friends. .He was born in Marshalltown, Iowa on January 17, 1876, and was married at Pineville, Nebr., to Lucie Fox on February 29, 1896; to their union two sons, Walter and Virgil, who with their mother, survive him. He moved to Lead with his family during 1910, and since that time had been in the employ of the Homestake Mining company, liked by his fellow workmen and proving a faithful and efficient employee. He was a member at the time of his death of the Woodmen. Besides his wife and two sons he leaves to mourn for him his mother and two brothers, Guy and Thomas. Funeral services will be held from the home, probably at 2 o'clock on Thursday afternoon, Rev. Hartung of the Methodist Church officiating.
