Description	:	ORONDO - Ron Davies, 44, a well-known Orondo orchardist, and a World War II veteran, died in a local hospital Thursday following a long illness. He was born in Wales, England, June 19, 1921, and came to the United States with his parents at the age of fie. The family settled in Orondo. Mr. Davies attended school in Orondo and East Wenatchee, graduating from Wenatchee High School in 1939. He worked in Alaska until World War II. He enlisted in the U. S. He was born in Wales, England, June 19, 1921, and came to the United States with his parents at the age of fie. The family settled in Orondo. Mr. Davies attended school in Orondo and East Wenatchee, graduating from Wenatchee High School in 1939. He worked in Alaska until World War II. He enlisted in the U. S. Army November 26, 1942, serving in the Intelligence Observation Corps in the South Pacific. He also attended the University of Oregon while in the service. After his discharge in 1946 he returned to Orondo and engaged in the apple industry with his father and brother. He married Mary Brugguman June 7, 1947, in Wenatchee. He was a member of the Presbyterian church and the Orondo Grange, having served as past master. He was very active in Little League, and had coached the Northwest Motor Freight Team last summer. Surviving are his widow; four children, Nancy, Sandra, Dan and Bill, all at home; two brothers, Dave Davies, Orondo and Jack Davies, Renton; three sisters, Mrs. Lila Ott and Mrs. Ethel Van Hoven both of East Wenatchee, and Mrs. Peggy Dennis, Orondo; one step brother, Levi Johns, Orondo; and his mother, Mrs. Margaret Davies, Orondo. His father preceded him in death in 1963. Funeral arrangements are by the Chapel of the Valley [Wenatchee Daily World 1 Oct 1965]
