Zion, May 18, 1878, and passed away at the Jefferson county hospital, Tuesday, October 23, 1934, at the age of 56 years, 5 months and 5 days. On February 1, 1906, he was united in marriage to Jessie Loraine Robinson, who passed away on October 4, 1922. Russell united with the Mt. Zion Presbyterian church in early youth and his membership remained there all his life. He spent all his life near Mt. Zion... Read More	**Handwritten: Keo. Rep. 3 Nov. 1934 William Russell Barker William Russell, son of Arnold C. and Martha M. Barker, was born one mile east of Mt. Zion, May 18, 1878, and passed away at the Jefferson county hospital, Tuesday, October 23, 1934, at the age of 56 years, 5 months and 5 days. On February 1, 1906, he was united in marriage to Jessie Loraine Robinson, who passed away on October 4, 1922. Russell united with the Mt. Zion Presbyterian church in early youth and his membership remained there all his life. He spent all his life near Mt. Zion except the last two years when he has been farming near Packwood. Of a sunny and cheerful disposition he had an exceedingly large circle of friends. He leaves to mourn his departure his two sons, James Cecil and Frederick A., both of Packwood; three brothers and two sisters, Geo. V. of Keosauqua, A.C. of Grinnell, Chester P., Miss Jose Barker and Mrs. Maude McIntosh, of Mt. Zion. The funeral services were conducted by his pastor, the Rev. Howard C. Irvine in the Mt. Zion church on Thursday at 2:00 p.m. Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Williams sang three selections, Mrs. Chas. Campbell, accompanist. Burial was in the Maple Hill cemetery, at Birmingham. Source: Van Buren Co.
