He passed away at the hospital in Superior June 18, 1983. William was educated in Nuckolls County where he lived most of his life. Preceding him in death were his parents and one brother, Edwin. Survivors include two brothers, Orville of Nelson and Ted of Pratt, Kansas, and two sisters, Mrs. Ed (Fay) Bowman of Pueblo, Colorado, and Mrs. Keith (Beth) Jeppesen of Portland, Oregon. Graveside services were held June 22 at 10:30 a.m. in the Nelson Cemetery. Rev. Richard Markland officiated. Joe Ferebee sang "Abide With Me". Arrangements were by Klawitter-Price Funeral Home of Nelson. The Nelson Gazette (Nelson, NE), Thursday, June 30, 1983; pg. 5 ==================================================== William Sheldon Stahl, son of Joseph and Henrietta Stahl, was born February 5, 1909, at Nelson, Nebraska. He died June 28, 1883, at Brodstone Memorial Nuckolls County Hospital in Superior, Nebraska, at the age of 74 years, 3 months and 24 days. William attended various country schools in the county, but finished school at Angus. He was a life-long resident of Nelson and had worked for the Burlington Northern Railroad before retiring. Other than his work for the railroad, he performed various services as were needed, but regardless of what his employment was, he was never without work, even during depression times. During recent years, he has been in ill health and was a resident at the Hastings Regional Center for a time and later at the Good Samaritan Center in Nelson. Survivors include two brothers, Orville of Nelson and Ted of Pratt, Kansas; two sisters, Mrs. Ed (Fay) Bowman of Pueblo, Colorado, and Mrs. Keith (Beth) Jeppesen of Portland, Oregon. He was preceded in death by one brother, Edwin. Graveside services were held from the Nelson Cemetery, Wednesday, June 22, at 10:30 a.m., with Rev. Richard Markland officiating.
