Description	:	William Sherman Tharp William Sherman Tharp, son of Conrad and Margaret Tharp, was born near Unionville, Iowa, June 8, 1865 and died at his home west of Bloomfield, May 7, 1946, at the age of 80 years, 10 months and 29 days. He spent his entire life in Davis County. He united in marriage to Rebecca Stocker, October 15, 1886. Eight children were born to this union, two of whom, Ellis and an infant daughter, preceded him in death. His companion passed away December 25, 1945. Read More	William Sherman Tharp William Sherman Tharp, son of Conrad and Margaret Tharp, was born near Unionville, Iowa, June 8, 1865 and died at his home west of Bloomfield, May 7, 1946, at the age of 80 years, 10 months and 29 days. He spent his entire life in Davis County. He united in marriage to Rebecca Stocker, October 15, 1886. Eight children were born to this union, two of whom, Ellis and an infant daughter, preceded him in death. His companion passed away December 25, 1945. Mr. Tharp united with the Christian Church at Numa a number of years ago and retained his membership there throughout life. In the days of the Gospel Team movement he took great delight in that activity and went to many churches conducting services. He has been an earnest Bible student and spent a great deal of time reading his Bible. Since the loss of his companion he has found this a great source of help. He leaves to mourn their loss six children, Homer of Davenport, Iowa, Harry of Mystic, Iowa, Sherman also of Davenport, Winfred and Glenn of Bloomfield, Iowa and Mrs. Blanche Reece of Oskaloosa, Iowa, two brothers, Charley of Unionville, Iowa and Emory of Omaha, Nebraska, three sisters, Mrs. Mary Elder of Ash Grove, Iowa, Mrs. Sarah Ellison of Ottumwa, Iowa and Mrs. Walter Clark of Moravia, Iowa, ten grand children, eleven great grand children, several nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends. The funeral service was held at the Wagler Funeral Home Friday afternoon, May 10, 1946 at 2:00 o'clock, conducted by Rev. Arthur M. Eastman. Interment was made in the Bloomfield I. O. O. F. cemetery.
