Poland, former Milford resident, will be held this (Wednesday) afternoon at the Leyson Funeral Home in Milford. Mr. Poland died Nov. 19 at the home of his daughter, Mrs. R.C. Booth in Cedar Rapids, where he has made his home for several years. Mr. Poland was born in Lime Springs, Iowa, Oct. 28, 1856, and at an early age moved to Spirit Lake. He learned the printers trade under the expert tutelege of A.B. Funk, on the Spirit Lake Beacon, and worked many years at this profession. During his residence in Spirit Lake he operated a business prior to moving to Milford in the 1920's. With his son, the late Spencer Poland, he operated a drug store here until his death. He is survived by one daughter, Wilma, Mrs. R.C. Booth, and one sister, Mrs. Kepner, of East Moline, ILL. Mrs. Poland preceded him in death. Interment will be made in the family lot in Lakeview Cemetery, Spirit Lake. The Milford Masonic Lodge, of which he was a member, will have charge of the service. *Obituary is published in The Spirit Lake Beacon, Nov. 22, 1945. ------------
