SOMERS DEAD Well-known Resident Expires Last Saturday After an illness of several months duration, of tubercular trouble and a complication of diseases, William T. Somers, well-known and highly respected resident of Crisfield, died at his home on Cove Street last Saturday night. Mr. Somers was 64 years of age. He was born in this community and was a son of the late Abram Somers. For several years past he had been engaged in the mercantile business on upper Main street, but ill health compelled him to give up active business pursuits. He was a man of quiet, unassuming disposition, but of sterling character and honestly, and justly enjoyed the esteem of the entire community. A consistent christian gentleman, Mr. Somers was an active member of Mt. Pleasant M. P. Church. Funeral services were held from Mt. Pleasant church on Tuesday afternoon, conducted by Rev. Chas. M. Elderdice, pastor, assisted by Dr. Bob Killgore, and interment was in Crisfield cemetery. Eastern Shore Council, Jr. O. U. A. M., of which Mr. Somers was a member, participated in the services. The deceased is survived by his widow, Mrs. Sallie E. Somers, and two sons, Messrs. A. Nelson and Artie Somers, of Crisfield. The Crisfield Times, Crisfield, Maryland, Saturday, December, 1923, p. 1
