SALLY SOMERS PASSED AWAY SUNDAY Esteemed Crisfield Matron Died At Home On Second Street Buried In Local Cemetery Tuesday Mrs. Sally E. Somers, aged and respected citizen of this city, and widow of the late William Somers, passed away at her home on Second street on Sunday last. She had been in ill health for a number of years. Born in Crisfield during the latter months of 1860, the daughter of the late William and Elizabeth Daugherty, esteemed residents of this city, Mrs. Somers was seventy-nine years of age and was known and loved by hundreds of warm friends in whose hearts her place can never be filled. A life-long member of Mount Pleasant Church, Mrs. Somers was a true Christian woman, a fact that was highly exemplified in her every day life. She was a regular attender at her church, as long as health permitted, and lived her life according to the standards set forth in the Gospel. Just as she loved her church, she loved her home and delighted in making it a bright and cheerful place as long as she remained active. She was a wonderful wife and mother, and a true friend to all. Hers was a charitable nature and she often gave more that her part toward the upkeep of her church. Too, she delights, in aiding all those who needed help and contributed to worthwhile causes. Surviving are three children, Ira Sterling, the son of a former marriage, Artie Somers and Nelson Somers, all of Crisfield. Two sisters, Mrs. Manie Sterling and Mrs. Florence Sterling, both of Crisfield, and one brother, R. H. Daugherty, of Baltimore, also survive.
