Mr. Chancey was born March 18, 1924, in Ripley, a son of the late William Thomas Chancey Sr. and the late Mary Tibble Chancey. He worked at Guthrie Air Force Station, Charleston, Clinton County Air Force Base (AFB), Wilmington, Ohio, and retired from Wright-Patterson AFB as foreman of Model Shop, 4950th Test Wing. Read More	William Thomas Chancey Jr. William Thomas Chancey Jr. of Wilmington, Ohio, died Saturday, October 21, 2006, at his home after a brief illness. Mr. Chancey was born March 18, 1924, in Ripley, a son of the late William Thomas Chancey Sr. and the late Mary Tibble Chancey. He worked at Guthrie Air Force Station, Charleston, Clinton County Air Force Base (AFB), Wilmington, Ohio, and retired from Wright-Patterson AFB as foreman of Model Shop, 4950th Test Wing. He graduated from Ripley High School, Ripley, and attended West Virginia Tech at Montgomery. He enjoyed football in his younger years, playing in high school, college and semi-pro. He enjoyed his hobby of golfing since his retirement in 1983, making a hole-in-one in 1994. He was a member of Ripley Masonic Lodge No. 16, Ripley, member of Scottish Rite, Valley of Charleston and Beni Kedem Shrine, Charleston, and Clinton County Shrine Club. He was an active member of Ralph K. Shrine No. 66, Order of the White Shrine of Jerusalem and served 18 terms as Watchman of Shepherd during his 37 years as a member. He was a 3-year trustee of Charity Court, Order of the Amaranth, Beavercreek, Ohio. He was a member of Ticker Tape Investment Club and life member of the Elks Lodge No. 797. He served in the U.S. Army in the South Pacific during World War II. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Juanita B. Chancey; two sons, Thomas Roger Chancey (Patricia) of Fredericksburg, Va., and William Henry Chancey (Jeannie) of Memphis, Tenn.; three grandsons, William (Sarah), Thomas of Memphis, Tenn., and Eric of Fredericksburg, Va.; sister-in-law, Delores Chancey of Ripley; brother-in-law, Jack (Bobbie) Brown of Dunbar; and sister-in-law, Billie Brown of Charleston; several nieces and nephews; and lots of friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, John, Wilbert, Elliott, Howard; and one sister, Gertrude Monk. The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, October 24, at Littleton Funeral Home, Sabina, Ohio. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday with a White Shrine service at 8 p.m. at Littleton Funeral Home, Sabina, Ohio. Visitation will be from 12 to 2 p.m. followed by a funeral service at 2 p.m. Wednesday, October 25, at Calvary United Methodist Church, Ripley. Burial will follow at Fairplain Cemetery.
