Description	:	William Wesley Engel William Engel, age 77, a lifetime resident of Perkins County, died September 20, 1999 at the Perkins County Hospital. Bill was born February 28, 1922 in Keith County, Nebraska to William and Grace Sims Engel. As a young child he moved with his parents into Perkins County. Read More	William Wesley Engel William Engel, age 77, a lifetime resident of Perkins County, died September 20, 1999 at the Perkins County Hospital. Bill was born February 28, 1922 in Keith County, Nebraska to William and Grace Sims Engel. As a young child he moved with his parents into Perkins County. He received his early education at District #62 in Perkins County. As a young man he started farming with his father. He married Agnes Pierce on May 2, 1949 in Ogallala. The couple made their home on the family farm in Perkins County. He remained active on the farm throughout his life. He enjoyed being with his children and grandchildren. Bill was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. He was baptized and confirmed on December 26, 1956 by Pastor Bellmann. He was active in the Lutheran Laymen's League and a member of the church council. He also served as Sunday School Superintendent and was a member of the County Committee. Preceding him in death were his parents, brother Max Engel and grandson Moses Simpson. Survivors include his wife Agnes Engel of Grant, Nebraska; three daughters, Sandra (Jim) Glenn of Grant, Becky (Lloyd) Dahlkoetter of Grant and Kathy (Russ) Simpson of Denver, Colorado; two sons, Charles (Jolene) Engel of Ogallala, Nebraska, David (Lisa) Engel of Grant; mother-in-law, Alma Pierce of Ogallala; three sisters, Edith Rasco of Dickinson, Texas, Maxine Hall of Houston, Texas, and Ruth (Doug) Joosten of Albuquerque, N. M.; four brothers, Gerald Engel of Grant, Fred (Pat) Engel of Grant, Paul (Mary Ann) Engel of Westminster, Calif., and Harold (Nancy) Engel of Ft. Collins, Colorado; one aunt, Anna Engel of Grant; eleven grandchildren, Stacey (Matt) Manary, Joshua Dahlkoetter, Scott, Jeff, and Kameron Simpson, Johanna, Phillip and Emilene Engel, and Craig, Chris and Cashia Engel; two step grandchildren, Luv Dobbins of Denver and Joy Simpson of Laredo, Texas. Funeral services were held Friday, September 24, 1999 at the Trinity Lutheran Church, northwest of Grant, with Pastor Randy Wahl officiating. Burial was in the Trinity Lutheran Cemetery. A memorial has been established to the Lutheran Hour. Draucker Funeral Home of Ogallala was in charge of arrangements.
