He passed away at the Fillmore County Hospital at Geneva, September 14, 1962, lacking but two days reaching the age of 74. Ross was married to Viola May Spahr of Fairmont, November 16, 1909. Read More	Son of William Samuel & Rene (Bell) Dorrance. Husband of Viola May Spahr. Willie Ross Dorrance, son of William Samuel and Rena Bell Dorrance, was born September 16, 1888, at Fairmont, Neb. He passed away at the Fillmore County Hospital at Geneva, September 14, 1962, lacking but two days reaching the age of 74. Ross was married to Viola May Spahr of Fairmont, November 16, 1909. He joined the Methodist Church in 1909 and was for years a member of the church board, serving 14 years as lay leader. The greater part of his adult life was spent in the mercantile business with the exception of four years when he operated a stock farm in Stanton County. He served several years on the city council and was active in the Community Club and the I.O.O.F. Lodge. He sold his Fairmont store a few years ago and retired from business. His parents and brother, Floyd preceded him in death. He leaves to mourn his passing his wife and a sister, Mrs. Joy Podoll of Winside, Neb., besides many nieces and nephews, all very dear to him. Funeral services were conducted at Grace Methodist church at 2 p.m. Monday, September 17, Rev. Robert F. Barger officiating. Miss Janyce Gangstad sang "Still, Still With Thee" and "Sun of My Soul." Mrs. A.P. Stewart was accompanist. Pallbearers were John Anderson, D. D. Beavers, Robert Bettger, Harold Boren, William Boren and A. P. Stewart. Interment was in the Fairmont Cemetery.
