Read More	Newton Kansan Posted Jul 06, 2011 @ 12:00 PM TOPEKA — Motter, Willis Blaine, 86, formerly of Newton, passed away July 5, 2011, at the VA Medical Center of Topeka. Blaine was born in Potwin, January 26, 1925, to Frank and Leota Motter. He attended Whitewater schools. He proudly served with the US Army during World War II, where he was wounded at Normandy. He married Wilma Jean Mosiman on June 11, 1948, in Elbing. She preceded him in death on July 28, 2010. He was employed by the Trading Post, Furniture Exchange, Hanna Furniture, Otasco, and Presbyterian Manor, all in Newton. He was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene in Newton. He was an active member of the Whitewater American Legion Post #65, for 67 years. Blaine was also preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Barbara Jean, and a brother, Ronnie Motter. He is survived by three daughters: Sandi and Bill Rapp of Lawrence; Becky and Ken Shultz of Neodesha; Debbie and Bill Miller of Topeka; 7 grandchildren: Brandon and Paula Rapp, Nicholas and Jenni Rapp, Patrick Rapp, Jennifer and Brian Murrison, Kendall and Jodi Shultz, Katie and Scott Rogers, and Andrew and Dusty Miller; 6 great-grandchildren, Alivia and Ashton Rapp, Brock and McKenzi Murrison, and Jalie and Kaden Shultz; a sister, Lola Mae Ray of Orlando, Florida; and a brother, Leland Motter of Brainerd. Visitation from 6 – 8 p.m., Saturday evening and Funeral Service at 3 p.m., Sunday, July 10, 2011, all at Lamb Funeral Home, Whitewater. Blaine will be buried with full military honors in the Whitewater Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Whitewater American Legion Post #65 in care of Lamb Funeral Home, 120 S Main/PO Box 358, Whitewater, KS, 67154.
