He was preceded in death by his parents and a daughter-in-law Vicki Worley Montgomery. Willis Montgomery was born April 23, 1930, in Grinnell, the son of Raymond and Sara Ladd Montgomery. He graduated in 1947 from the Brooklyn High School. He was drafted into the Unites States Marine Corps from 1951-1953, serving in the Korean War. Willis was united in marriage to Delores McWilliams on February 19, 1952, in Guernsey, Iowa. He began farming with his dad following high school and continued to farm for fifty plus years. After farming, he worked at I-80 and later the Tanger Outlet Mall in Williamsburg. Willis served on the BGM School Board for 6 years and one term as president. He was a member of the Farm Bureau and the First Presbyterian Church where he held about every office and taught Sunday School. Faith and family were very important to Willis. He enjoyed crossword puzzles, tearing down machinery, shelling walnuts in the fall and most of all supporting and attending his grandchildren’s activities. Source: Kloster Funeral Home, Brooklyn, IA
