Wilma attended the rural country school and helped with farm and house work. Found in the 1915 & 1920 censuses at Burr Oak, Mitchell, Iowa: 1915: Wilma B Ketelsen 15 1920: August J Ketelsen 47, Annie 44, Henry 20, Wilma 19, Mary 17, Elmer 10, Lorraine 2 ys 9 mos Wilma married Earl Hartwick Snyder on October 3, 1924 at the Baptist parsonage in Osage., Mitchell, Iowa. They had one daughter, Irene J. Snyder. Found in the 1940 - 1950 censuses at Osage, Mitchell, Iowa: 1940: Earl H Snyder 43, Wilma 40, Irene 14 1950: Earl Snyder 53, Wilma 50 The couple lived south of Osage on Cedar Street. Wilma always had a big garden and worked as an egg candler at the Osage Produce, retiring in 1965. In 1997, she and her daughter bought a house together. Wilma broke her hip and after getting out of the hospital went to the Osage Rehabilitation and Health Care Center in Osage for therapy. Wilma liked it so much there she chose to stay as a resident. Obituary from the Waterloo Courier: Funeral services were held Wednesday, May 2, 2001 at 10:30 am at Trinity Lutheran Church, 403 State Street, Osage, for Wilma Bertha (Ketelsen) Snyder, age 101, who died Saturday, April 28, 2001 at Osage Rehabilitation Center, Osage. Rev. Christian F. Gugel officiated and interment was in the Osage Cemetery. Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Earl in 1951; a sister Mary; two brothers Henry and Elmer; a grandson Dick Ogden and a son-in-law, Leo Ogden. Those that survive her include her daughter, Irene Ogden of Osage; a sister, Lorraine Brush of California; two grandchildren, Deb Pape of Osage and Daniel Ogden and wife, LaDonna, of Osage; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Note: Wilma celebrated her 100th birthday on February 23, 2000 with a party at the Osage Rehab Center for friends and relatives.
