Mrs. Schrader passed away Wednesday, December 31, 2014 at the Memorial Hospital in Abilene.She was born August 12, 1932 in the Buckeye Community of Dickinson County, the daughter of Lewis & Ethel (Chronister) Zeigler. Jeannie graduated from the Dickinson County High School in Chapman in 1949. She was a substitute mail carrier, cooked and drove a bus for the school at Navarre, but more than anything, Jeannie was a wife, mother, and grandmother. Jeannie was a member of the New Basel United Church of Christ where she was one of the church organists. On August 27, 1950 she married Cecil Schrader at the Buckeye Church of the Brethren. He survives of the home. Other survivors include her sons Charles “Chuck” and his wife Mary Ann Schrader of Denver, Colorado, Calvin and his wife Diane Schrader of Spring Hill, Kansas, Lonnie and his wife Kelly Schrader of Abilene; brother Curtis Ziegler of Land O’ Lakes, Florida; eleven grandchildren and eighteen great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her brother Wayne Ziegler and her parents.Jeannie’s final resting place will be in the Union (Livingston) Cemetery northeast of Abilene. The family of Jeannie will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. Friday evening at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Dickinson County and may be sent in care of the Martin-Becker-Carlson Funeral Home, 414 NW 3rd, Abilene, Kansas 67410.
