Mrs. McMahan was born Nov. 26, 1914 at Shawnee County, Kan., the daughter of William and Ella Jane (Callaham) Moore. She grew up in Shawnee County and graduated from Burlingame High School in 1932. Read More	Posted: Friday, February 22, 2013 4:23 pm WILMA MCMAHAN CLAY CENTER-- Wilma McMahan, 98, died Thursday, Feb. 21, 2013 at Presbyterian Manor, Clay Center. Mrs. McMahan was born Nov. 26, 1914 at Shawnee County, Kan., the daughter of William and Ella Jane (Callaham) Moore. She grew up in Shawnee County and graduated from Burlingame High School in 1932. She received normal training and taught at Fairview School in rural Pauline, Kan. She married Wilson McMahan on May 18, 1935. They made their home in Topeka until 1947 when they moved to Clay Center. They co-owned and operated Mail Me Monday Accounting Service which later became Central Office Service and Supply. She helped start the gift and merchandising section at Central Office in 1961 and worked there until her retirement in the late 1970's. Her husband preceded her in death on Feb. 3, 1990. she was a member of Hebron Reformed Presbyterian Church, Gideon Auxiliary, Women's Missionary Fellowship and BPW. She was also preceded in death by two sisters; and one great-grandchild. Survivors include one daughter, Sharil Carlson and husband Robert R. of Clay Center; two sons, Denis McMahan and wife Sylvia of Ft. Collins, Colo. and Steve McMahan and wife Sheryl of Clay Center; seven grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Feb. 25 at the Hebron Reformed Presbyterian Church, Clay Center, with the Rev. Ron Graham officiating. Burial will be in the Hebron Cemetery, Clay County. Visitation will be held from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Neill-Schwensen-Rook Funeral Home.
