Funeral services were held Monday at the First Baptist church in Malvern and the auditorium was filled with friends who had come to pay their last respects to Mrs. Strand. Read More	The Glenwood Opinion Tribune 2 April 1942 Funeral Services for Mrs. Donald Strand Mrs. Donald Strand, the former Wilma Stroud of Malvern passed away Friday, March 27, in the Oakdale sanitarium at Iowa City, where she had been a patient since February. Funeral services were held Monday at the First Baptist church in Malvern and the auditorium was filled with friends who had come to pay their last respects to Mrs. Strand. The high school Girl Reserves organization, of which she was a member before her graduation last spring, attended in a body. The services were in charge of Rev. Glenn W. South and music was furnished by Marlin Richardson, accomapanied by Sarah Ruse. Pall bearers were L. L. Richardson, Robert Sell, Alan Hasselquist, Frank Chamberlain, John Hall and Fred Mulholland. Neva and Thelma McClure had charge of the flowers. The following life sketch was read: Wilma Virginia Stroud Strand, daughter of Robert M. and Floy Stroud, was born August 28, 1923 at the farm home southeast of Glenwood and passed away March 27, 1942 at the age of 18 years, six months and 29 days. At the age of seven she moved with her parents to Malvern, where she attended school until she graduated in May, 1941. She united with the First Baptist church of Malvern when a child. On July 13, 1941 she was united in marriage to Donald E. Strand at Rock Port, Missouri. She leaves to mourn her loss, her husband, who is stationed at Camp Dix, New Jersey, her parents, her sisters, Mrs. John Christenson of Omaha, Irma of Kansas City, MIssouri, Betty JUne and Fern at home and a brother Leland at home. There are also numerous other relatives and a host of friends.
