Description	:	WINFIELD WELCH Winfield Welch was born in Van Wert, Ohio, to Isreal and Jane Welch on April 9, 1866. He came to Watertown with his parents as a boy. He was married to Clara Clark in Aberdeen in 1890. They lived in Codington county until they homesteaded in Spring Grove township west of Peever where they lived until they retired and bought a home in Peever in 1941. Read More	WINFIELD WELCH Winfield Welch was born in Van Wert, Ohio, to Isreal and Jane Welch on April 9, 1866. He came to Watertown with his parents as a boy. He was married to Clara Clark in Aberdeen in 1890. They lived in Codington county until they homesteaded in Spring Grove township west of Peever where they lived until they retired and bought a home in Peever in 1941. Mrs. Welch passed away very suddenly in 1950. Since then he has made his home with his oldest daughter, Mrs. Ella Robbins. He had been under doctor's care for the last five years and passed away at the hospital in Browns Valley at 11 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 11, 1953, at the age of 87 years, 7 months and 2 days. Mr. Welch was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers and two sisters, one son Arthur and six grandchildren. He leaves to mourn his passing one son, Albert, of Fresno, Calif., and five daughters, Mrs. Ella Robbins of Peever, Mrs. Wilson Wren (Esther) of Braceville, Ill., Mrs. Pearl Burrows of Arlington, Wash., Mrs. Pierce Owens (Laura) of Peever, Mrs. Kenneth Niles (Inez) of Peever, and 25 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren. Mr. Welch was a man of sterling character, a good neighbor and a kind father. Those from afar attending the services were Mr. and Mrs. Wilson Wren, Braceville, Ill.; Mrs. Pearl Burrows, Arlington, Wash.; Mr. and Mrs. Guy Wren and son, Bradley, Ill.; Mr. and Mrs. Walter Wren, Symerton, Ill.; Mr. and Mrs. Charles Holmes and son, Mason City, Ia.; Arlyce Welch, Mason City, Ia.; Mr. and Mrs. Fritz Bahr and son, Lake City; Mr. and Mrs. B. J. Buckley, Watertown,; Mr. and Mrs. Epho Thomas and family, Florence; Herbert Welch, Watertown; Mrs. Erma Howey, Watertown; Mr.and Mrs. H. Horstman and family, Watertown; Mr.and Mrs. Charles Jackson and son, Mason City, Ia.; Mrs. Cora Burns and family, Webster.
